How does MDX work?
MDX is a network designed to optimize the sending of fax transmissions to multiple recipients. Users create jobs on their own local computer, using our easy-to-use software application. Jobs are then transmitted from the user's computer, across the BroadFax network and distributed to specified recipients. By utilizing our fax broadcast service, our customers realize a significant savings in infrastructure and system management costs.
What are the technical requirements for MDX?
MDX requires a computer running Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
Where are my lists and documents stored?
All of your data related to a job is stored locally on your own computer, ensuring that you retain control of your sensitive data at all times.
Can I create reports about my jobs?
Absolutely. MDX has a reporting capability that allows users to generate a variety of detailed and summary reports on job activity. Reports are generated on line and can be printed or saved locally.
What file formats can I use for lists and documents?
Lists should be in .csv format. Usable documents can be created from any Windows-printable environment. That is, if you are using a Windows-based application, you can "print" the document to the BroadFax Capture utility that will convert the document into a .tif for faxing.
Can I personalize documents?
Yes. Use the Document Designer to specify customizable fields on new or existing documents. These fields indicate the data that you would like to be personalized for each recipient. Data can be extracted directly from several contact managers through the BroadFax Connectors, available to MDX customers at no cost.
Can I have multiple users on my MDX account?
A single MDX account can have multiple users, with unique identification, passwords and even expense codes, if desired.
Can I create jobs with mail merge?
Because MDX utilizes BroadFax technology, MDX customers enjoy much of the same functionality as BroadFax, including access to mail merge. This capability enables users to leverage the power of Microsoft's mail merge capabilities to create highly personalized documents for your recipients.
Can I test broadcasts before sending the whole job?
We recommend sending a test before your fax broadcast, just to make sure everything is working the way you expect it to. You can easily specify test criteria at the same time that you set up the job for sending.
How do I know that my jobs have been sent?
You can check the status of any job directly from your computer. In addition, MDX will send you an e-mail when the job is completed.
How can I check the status of my job?
Your MDX software keeps track of all jobs sent, along with a variety of status indicators such as job status and success and failure statistics. From this application, you can quickly and easily track all of your jobs.
What determines how fast a fax transmits with MDX?
There are many factors that affect the rate at which a fax is transmitted, including: where the document uses half-tones, how many horizontal lines have black ink on them, and the speed of the fax machine on the receiving end. For pointers on effective fax broadcasting.
