What is BroadFax?
BroadFax is an easy-to-use e-document delivery application. It enables users to provide speedy and efficient critical communications to business contacts. Users can broadcast high volume fax or email jobs to a selected list of recipients in a cost effective manner.
How does BroadFax work?
BroadFax's robust technology to delivers feature-rich broadcast fax software. Users simply specify documents, recipients and job sending parameters and BroadFax does the rest. By utilizing a users fax modem and telephone lines, BroadFax rapidly creates and transmits jobs.
What is a "line"?
A "line" is a single telephone line or connection used for faxing.

What file formats can I use for lists and documents?
Lists should be in .csv format. Usable documents can be created from any Windows-printable environment. That is, if you are using a Windows-based application, you can "print" the document to the BroadFax Capture utility that will convert the document into a .tif for faxing.
Can I create lists from the data in my contact manager?
Absolutely. If you are using GoldMine, ACT!, Maximizer, MS Outlook or Excel, we have pre-built connectors that integrate BroadFax to your contact manager. For more information about this capability, check out our BroadFax Connectors or contact your BroadFax representative.
Can I personalize documents?
Yes. Use the Document Designer to specify customizable fields on new or existing documents. These fields indicate the data that you would like to be personalized for each recipient. Data can be extracted directly from several contact managers through the BroadFax Connectors.
Can I create jobs with mail merge?
BroadFax enables users to leverage the power of Microsoft's mail merge capabilities to create highly personalized documents for your recipients.
Can I test broadcasts before sending the whole job?
We recommend sending a test job before your entire job, just to make sure everything is working the way you expect it to. You can easily specify test criteria at the same time that you set up the job for sending.
What determines how fast a fax transmits with BroadFax?
There are many factors that affect the rate at which a fax is transmitted, including: whether the document uses half-tones, how many horizontal lines have black ink on them, and the speed of the fax machine on the receiving end. For pointers on effective fax broadcasting.
How do I know if my job has been sent? How can I check the status of my job?
The BroadFax Client keeps track of all jobs sent, along with a variety of status indicators such as job status and success and failure statistics. From the BroadFax Client, you can quickly and easily track all of your jobs.
Can I create reports about my jobs?
BroadFax has a reporting module which enables users to generate a variety of summary and detailed reports. |
